Wigs by L was born from a simple truth: African women love the timeless beauty of neat microtwists, spring twists, and knotless braids—but nobody loves losing an entire Saturday in a salon chair or dealing with tight tension on delicate edges.
Every Wigs by L unit is meticulously ventilated and braided by hand in Kenya on a breathable, lightweight mesh dome cap. We pair realistic HD/Swiss lace closures and frontals with adjustable glueless elastic straps so you can transform your look in 60 seconds flat.
Caring for your wig
With simple routine care, your handmade braided wig will stay fresh, neat, and bouncy for 2 to 3+ years.
Gentle Cleansing
Wash every 6–8 wears. Submerge gently in lukewarm water mixed with mild sulfate-free shampoo. Swish lightly without rubbing or twisting the braids, then rinse thoroughly in cool water.
Mousse & Air Drying
Blot excess water with a microfiber towel. Apply a light styling mousse down the lengths to tame flyaways, and place the unit on a wig stand or mannequin head to air-dry completely.
Refreshing Curls & Ends
For spring twists and curly microtwists (like The Malkia or Malaika), spritz lightly with a water-and-leave-in conditioner mist and scrunch upward. Never use high direct heat on synthetic/kanekalon fibres unless dipping straight ends in hot water.
Overnight Storage
Always remove your wig before sleeping. Store it on a mannequin stand or inside a satin bag away from dust and direct sunlight to preserve the lace parting and braid tension.

Do I need glue or salon installation to wear a Wigs by L unit? +
No! All of our closure wigs and standard units are 100% glueless. They come with an adjustable elastic band and internal combs so you can put your wig on in under 60 seconds without glue, tape, or gel.
How long does a custom braided wig take to make? +
Because every strand is braided and ventilated by hand, custom orders typically take 7 to 14 working days depending on braid intricacy (e.g., waist-length microtwists vs. a shoulder-length spring twist bob). Ready-to-wear units in stock ship within 24–48 hours.
What cap size should I choose? +
Our Medium (22–22.5") cap fits over 90% of clients comfortably thanks to the inner adjustment straps. If you have a particularly petite head or wear very thick natural hair underneath, you can select Small (21–21.5") or Large (23–23.5") on our Custom Wig Configurator.
How do I pay and how does delivery work? +
